In our PE lessons, we develop children’s fundamental movement skills such as agility, balance and coordination. In EYFS, children develop their gross motor skills in a range of ways such as creating obstacle courses, exploring with different ways of moving (running, jumping, balancing etc) and much more. Children in EYFS also develop their fine motor skills as part of their physical development, such as mark marking with different media, and activities known as ‘funky fingers’. In addition to this, children are taught about their hygiene and health in relation to physical development. Here are some examples of the types of activities that you could complete at home:
In KS1, children’s fundamental movement skills such as agility, balance and coordination are taught creatively through the teaching of gymnastics, dance, games and agility and fitness lessons. Here are some links to support your learning.
