3D Shapes and Sock Puppets

This week has been filled with exciting learning opportunities to go on a shape hunt and making sock puppets.

In maths this week, we have been finishing our learning about shapes by exploring 3D shapes and their properties. We got the chance to go on a shape hunt around the school and took photos of the different shapes in our learning environment, including the reading cube or spherical balls.

In DT this week, we had a great morning making our sock puppets which they worked really hard on and they have made some amazing designs, including penguins, butterflies and dinosaurs. Below are some examples of our work.

In writing, we have been practising using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in our first lesson. We then have been exploring using adjectives to make our sentences more exciting to describe different characters in The Three Little Pigs as well as the houses.

In Science, we have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. We discussed that as humans we are omnivores as we eat both meat and plants, which gave way to some fun conversations about what plants we eat, such as potatoes and carrots.
