Nyewood CE Infant School
Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Our House in a NyeWood Infant Street
This week we have been learning about our classes traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs.
In writing this week, we have been reading different retellings of The Three Little Pigs and discussing the similarities and differences between them. The class have really enjoyed designing and building houses for the pigs, thinking about how they could make them stronger, so the wolf couldn't blow them down. We also drew story boards together in groups to help us communicate with others.
In maths, we have been exploring 2D shapes and their properties. We have been going on shape hunts around the school, and we have also used playdough to make different shapes whilst discussing how many sides and corners they have.
In DT, we have been designing our sock puppets which they will make next week, and we have had lots of creative designs, including dinosaurs and dolphins.
Many thanks also to our secret storyteller from Monday who read The Squirrels who Squabbled a rhyming story all about working together to help them get food ready for the winter hibernation.
